Description
October brings Fire Safety and Halloween… among other things. Fire safety does not necessarily
need to be a serious or scary topic for kids. The key is for the kids to learn
how to escape from a fire safely; not to become scared of being in a fire. By
tailoring activities and lessons to the age of the child, lessons can still be
taught…while kids have fun in the process. Add safety information for parents
about Fire Safety, Stop, Drop, and Roll. Hand
out a page of Halloween Safety Tips for parents during the last week of
October.
Remember
that each class has a variance in ability level of children. Start with something they can do, then see
who needs a challenge and give them the next progression of skill.
